- Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training is the training level class responsible for a learning to perform a wide variety of plant operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, and incumbents are expected to learn to perform the full scope of assigned duties. If hired, individuals must qualify for and obtain certification from the State of California as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training upon hire and must qualify for and obtain certification as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I within 18 months of appointment. - Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I/II/III

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for a wide variety of plant operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, and incumbents are expected to perform the full scope of assigned duties such as perform basic skilled water pollution control lab testing and analysis; operate, inspect, clean, repair, replace and maintain pumps, motors, filters and related equipment. Conducts on-site inspections, and prepares records and logs. Must have certification from the State Water Resources Control Board as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I or higher.
- Water Quality Specialist II

The Water Quality Specialist II is the journey level class within the Water Quality Specialist series. The position performs routine and complex skilled tasks and duties assigned to classes within the Water Quality Specialist series; demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties in the Water division; and provides functional direction to subordinate staff.
- Police Officer I/II

Police Officers are responsible for assigned law enforcement duties and responsibilities, perform tasks and duties related to the protection of public health, safety and welfare, and the enforcement of applicable federal, state and local laws; provide traffic enforcement and control; carry out special assignments in a particular phase of police work; and perform other related duties as required. The Police Officer I is the entry level position for academy graduates and those new to the law enforcement profession. The Police Officer II is the journey level position for candidates with at least 2 years of sworn public safety officer experience.
- Police Corporal - Internal Promotional Only

Under direction, the Police Corporal serves in a lead capacity in the sworn police officer series performing tasks and duties related to the protection of public health, safety and welfare, and the enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws; provides traffic enforcement and control; carries out special assignments in a particular phase of police work; performs other related duties as required. Provides supervision in the absence of a Police Sergeant; Police Corporals shall receive the same supervisory training as the Police Sergeant classification to insure consistency in supervision of personnel.

Under direction, the Police Sergeant coordinates and supervises the activities and operations of a patrol watch or program unit of the Police Department including implementation of departmental policies and procedures; coordinates activities with other divisions, units, watches, City departments, outside agencies and organizations; performs more difficult and responsible law enforcement and crime prevention supervision and planning; supervises personnel; performs other related duties as required.

The Police Lieutenant is a division manager within the Police Department. Incumbents perform a wide variety of police administrative work and perform specialized duties as assigned. Positions in this class exercise supervision over other employees, make assignments, establish priorities, and train and review work of subordinates. Incumbents are responsible all aspects of personnel management and make recommendations to the Police Commander and Chief of Police on such matters.
