NOTICE OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO FILL A VACANCY IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 1
Notice is hereby given that a Special Municipal Election will be held on June 7, 2016 for the election of a Council Member to fill the vacancy in Council District 1.
- Candidates for City Council must be a registered voter at the time nomination papers are issued and be a resident of the district.
- The nomination and declaration of candidacy period is February 15, 2016 to March 11, 2016.
- The person so qualified and elected to Council District 1 will serve the remainder of the unexpired term for Council District 1, through the first regularly scheduled City Council meeting in December of 2018.
Qualified candidates must obtain and file the required documents to run for office with the Madera County Clerk / Recorder located at 200 W. Fourth Street, Madera, California 93637, (559) 675-7720.
