Annual Leaf Cleanup Program

Department of Public Works personnel will begin the annual leaf cleanup on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Leaves from yards, to the extent possible, should be placed in the green waste container to be picked up by the refuse hauler. All leaves unable to fit in the green waste container should be piled neatly and approximately 1 foot from the curb, allowing room in the gutter for sufficient drainage. Gutters should be clear of bottles, cans, boards, limbs, brush and rocks, which can cause severe damage to equipment and injury to workers; leaf piles will not be picked up if they contain these items.

The City will be divided into ten sections.  Leaves will be removed from each of these sections in priority order.  The ten sections have been prioritized based upon past history, starting at Section 9 moving in a clockwise direction to Section 10.  This cycle will be repeated and, if needed, a third round of pickup will be available by contacting the Public Works Department at (559) 661-5466.

The Leaf Program is a huge task which requires a major effort on the part of the Street Maintenance Division.  Depending on fall weather conditions, it will require approximately eight weeks to clean up all the leaves.  During the past cleanup events, the residents have been very cooperative and patient.  The helpful attitude of everyone is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance for working with the City crews to make this program a success.
